Research Experience
Battery Sizing for an Existing Solar Farm in Florida, USA

Problem
I participated in a research lead by professor Brad Lehman at Northeastern University, in the Electrical and Computer engineering department. We worked on sizing a battery for an existing solar farm in FSU, Tallahassee, Florida.
Action
We used historical data to model a battery for an operational solar farm. By considering the load, forecast and other system capabilities, we worked on designing a battery system to optimize aging, performance and output of the battery. The data processing was done through MATLAB.
Result
After sizing the battery, the solar farm will be self-sufficient, and it will completely meet the load demands. By optimizing the battery, the system will be cost efficient, and reliable.
